Michelle Apuzzio is Vice President of Programs & Communications at NACU where she leads strategic communications, professional development programming, and learning communities that foster collaboration across a diverse consortium of colleges and universities. Since joining NACU in 2008, she has worked to honor the consortium’s traditions while addressing present-day challenges by convening higher education leaders, benchmarking institutional practices, and translating shared values into action. Michelle has also been active within the Association for Collaborative Leadership (ACL), where she has chaired the Knowledge Committee, co-founded and co-chairs ACL’s first learning community on Communities of Practice, and presented at its national conference. Prior to her work with NACU, she was an independent writer, editor, and communications strategy consultant serving clients in higher education and healthcare. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health studies and a master’s degree in physical therapy, both from Boston University.
