DEI Training

Recognizing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, NACU is programming a professional and personal learning experience for chief diversity officers & directors or others on NACU campuses. Our hope is that the workshops help professionals identify room for individual and campus-wide improvement and design ways for addressing those areas.

NACU will offer this training twice during 2021-22. All sessions are virtual and at no cost except for the Inclusive Competency Inventory individual assessment fee ($50).

  • Participants will pay for and take the Inclusive Competency Inventory assessment prior to the first session.
  • In session one, Dr. Joanne Barnes will cover the main components of knowing oneself, knowing others, and bridging differences as well as how the competencies we currently hold can be developed to reduce or eliminate negative attitudes and behaviors.
  • Participants will put into place strategies learned during the first session.
  • Prior to the second session, participants will take a post-assessment test.
  • In session two, Dr. Barnes will lead a discussion on participants’ progress and future efforts.
