NACU to Host Events in Washington DC

January 9

NACU will bring together academic affairs leaders and faculty for several events held in conjunction with the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) Annual Meeting from January 22 – 24, 2020. All events below will be at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AFFINITY GROUP MEETING
Wednesday, January 22 | 1 – 5 pm
All NACU provosts and chief academic officers or their designees are invited to attend this meeting. Location: Tulip, mezzanine level

10TH ANNUAL BOYER AWARD PRESENTATION AND LECTURE
Thursday, January 23 | 2:15 – 3:30 pm
NACU will present the 10th Annual Ernest L. Boyer Award to Nancy Cantor, chancellor of Rutgers University-Newark, in Newark, NJ. Following the award presentation, Dr. Cantor will deliver an address on “The Urgency of Recommitting Higher Education to the Public Good in 2020 and Beyond.” Location: Marquis Salon 9/10, level M2

NACU PANEL PRESENTATION
“Rethinking General Education in Uncertain Times: New Paths for Life and Career Preparation”
Thursday, January 23 | 4 – 5 pm
This session will describe how Drury University and North Central College have redesigned their general education curricula and advising structures with the aim of empowering students to be co-creators of their liberal arts learning and career preparation. Location: Georgetown, level M1

NACU CO-HOSTED RECEPTION
Friday, January 24 | 5:45 – 7:15 pm
NACU and colleagues from the Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning (CIEL), Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), Imagining America, and the Washington Internship Institute will host an informal reception. Location: Scarlet Oak, mezzanine level
