Carroll College Joins NACU

August 18

The New American Colleges and Universities (NACU) is proud to announce that Carroll College in Helena, Mont., has joined its national consortium of private, comprehensive colleges and universities. NACU is a trusted network that brings together innovative agents of change across higher education to share ideas and create unique opportunities.

“We are excited to welcome Carroll College, which is the first NACU member to join us from Montana,” said Sean Creighton, Ph.D., president of NACU. “Carroll’s addition will make our national network of campuses even stronger as we work together on how to best prepare their graduates for success in their careers and in life.”

While all of NACU’s 27 member institutions have their unique characteristics, their missions align with each other. All NACU campuses seek to integrate liberal arts, professional preparation, and civic engagement to provide an education that empowers students to have successful careers and lead purposeful lives as global citizens.

“Carroll College is delighted to join NACU given our 113 years of fulfilling our mission as a Catholic diocesan liberal arts institution,” said Dr. John Cech, president of Carroll College. “This organization is comprised of like-minded private colleges and universities who are each focused on serving their communities, regions, and our nation through innovative programs grounded in their respective traditions and excellence. NACU provides a wonderful opportunity to network and share ideas with our counterparts in a non-competitive environment. There is nothing more valuable than being able to ask questions and learn from other institutions.”

Situated in the heart of Montana’s Rocky Mountains, Carroll College was founded in 1909 by the Catholic Diocese of Helena. With the motto of “Not for school, but for life,” Carroll forms students for life as it is meant to be lived: a challenging, awe-inspiring, purposeful adventure. Carroll’s accomplishments include recognition from US News & World Report as the #1 Regional College in the West for more than a decade. It’s also top-ranked for undergraduate teaching and freshman retention rate. It also boasts the highest graduation rate in Montana.
